These are the terms for using taylorfamilysoftware.com, operated by Taylor Family Software LLC of Kingman, Arizona. By using this site, whether that means reading the blog, playing our free games, or contacting us, you agree to them. They're written in plain language on purpose.

The website and blog

Everything we publish here, including guides on websites, apps, SEO, eBay reselling, and investing, is general information, not professional advice. It isn't financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, and you shouldn't treat it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation.

The free games

Invest-A-Gator and Yolk Hoops are free browser games provided for entertainment and, in Invest-A-Gator's case, education. Invest-A-Gator simulates value-investing concepts with fictional businesses and numbers. It is a game, not investment advice, and playing it well doesn't mean real investments will go well. We may update, change, or retire either game at any time.

If you submit a score to the public leaderboard: use a username that isn't offensive or impersonating someone else, and don't submit falsified runs. We may remove any leaderboard entry at our discretion. How leaderboard data is handled is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Custom software services

Websites, apps, and other custom work described on our services page are scoped per project with a fixed written quote before any work begins. Each engagement is governed by its own written quote or agreement; if anything there conflicts with these terms, the written agreement for that project wins.

Our other products

FlowLister, Black & Gold SEO, and Memories Made Music run on their own domains and have their own terms of service, published on their own sites. Those terms, not these, govern your use of those apps.

Our content

The content on this site, including articles, images, the Invest-A-Gator and Yolk Hoops games, and our product names and logos, belongs to Taylor Family Software LLC. You're welcome to read, play, link to, and quote us with attribution. Please don't republish whole articles, copy the games, or use our branding without asking first.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to break, overload, or abuse this site or its leaderboard service, probe for vulnerabilities, or use the site for anything unlawful. That's it. Use it like a normal person and we'll never have a problem.

No warranties

This site and the free game are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to keep everything accurate and online, but we can't promise the site will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taylor Family Software LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this free website or game. This doesn't limit liability that can't legally be limited, and it doesn't apply to paid client work, which is covered by each project's written agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
